Jurgen Klopp defended Manchester City and beat the Premier League because of Liverpool’s congested match schedule.
Manchester City were forced to play at 12:30 pm last Saturday, against West Ham, after beating Porto in the Champions League the previous Wednesday.
It was a short change and even Klopp made an exception at the time of the Premier League clash. The Liverpool boss verified the name of Richard Masters while criticizing the organization.
“I think everyone would agree that if you play Tuesday night, you can play Saturday’s game at 12:30 pm, but somehow the Premier League never realizes that,” Klopp said.
“They always played the game on Wednesday night, like last Saturday, Manchester City had to play this game, I can’t believe it. Obviously we are not friends, we play against each other and we fight each other, but how is that? possible?
“Maybe I’m too stupid. Richard Masters and everyone else have said it before; ‘Come on, that’s right.’
“They don’t mind, I don’t understand why.”
Ironically, City make a comeback in Saturday’s early game against Sheffield United.
This time, however, they have one more day to bounce back after beating Marseille 3-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Liverpool will face West Ham in the last game on Saturday, at 5:30 pm.
