Liverpool lineups with Mohamed Salah rest and Naby Keita return against Palace

‘Naby Keita walks in while Wijnaldum takes a breath’

Ian Doyle: It’s another quick change for Liverpool with a third game in less than seven days.

And having kept the rotation to a minimum midweek, Jurgen Klopp will surely look to make changes for the trip to Crystal Palace in the early start of today’s Premier League.

There are no problems with the goalkeeper. Alisson Becker stays between the sticks.

But the availability of Joel Matip means the center-back can bounce back alongside Fabinho instead of Rhys Williams, with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson at fullback once again.

One area that definitely deserves a shakeup is the midfield.

This could be the game where Gini Wijnaldum takes a well-deserved breather, falling to the bench with Naby Keita entering to join Curtis Jones and captain Jordan Henderson.

At the top, another little tweak with Mohamed Salah, who was an unused substitute at Selhurst Park last season, was again missed.

Instead, Takumi Minamino can start on the left, with Sadio Mane shifting to the right and Roberto Firmino staying in the middle.

And with nine substitutes now allowed, I’ll take the boots just in case.

My team (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Fabinho, Robertson; Henderson, Jones, Keita; Mane, Firmino, Minamino.

‘Just a change for Liverpool to keep up the pressure’

Connor Dunn: Liverpool are now at the top of the Premier League and it’s time to put pressure on everyone else by moving three more points in the first game of the weekend against Crystal Palace.

With that in mind, my four defenses are almost unchanged from Tottenham, only Joel Matip coming in in place of the excellent Rhys Williams, simply in terms of having a senior center back at the heart of the defense and the fact that he is on back in full training.

The three forwards are of course the three forwards as I want to go as strong as possible to advance the game for at least the first hour before changes can be made.

My midfield stays the same as well, I’m wary of doing too much too early with Curtis Jones, but the way he’s been playing means he’s sticking around to keep strutting, but I would think about introducing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain or Naby Keita at the game if needed later.

My team (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Fabinho, Robertson; Henderson, Wijnaldum, Jones; Salah, Firmino, Mane

‘The headaches for the national team can wait a week’

David Lynch: Jurgen Klopp has received some significant fitness increases lately, but it seems unlikely that they will come into play at Selhurst Park.

Midfielder duo Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita were part of the squad to face Tottenham midweek after returning from injury.

But with a full week separating this clash with Palace and Liverpool’s upcoming outing, Klopp could err on the side of caution by using only both from the bench.

Asking the same XI who beat Tottenham, with restored Joel Matip in place of Rhys Williams, to come back once again seems like a sensible option, putting off any selection headaches until after a well-deserved week-long break.

My team (4-3-3) Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Fabinho, Robertson; Henderson, Wijnaldum, Jones; Salah, Mane, Firmino.

‘Only two changes for Liverpool’

Sean Bradbury: At some point in this hectic holiday period, Andy Robertson and Gini Wijnaldum will need a break.

But we haven’t gotten to that point yet.

This is a difficult task against a stubborn opposition. With Sadio Mane struggling to stay fit, Robertson will be a key threat on the left. And Wijnaldum’s recent performances have been compelling so he must continue in between.

The forwards will also need their minutes to be managed soon. Again, that can wait until after Christmas.

So there are only two changes for me in a solid lineup to face the Roy Hodgson charges.

With Joel Matip back in training, he comes in for Rhys Williams.

And in midfield, Naby Keita gets the nod ahead of Curtis Jones this time around.

My team (4-3-3): Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Fabinho, Robertson; Henderson, Wijnaldum, Keita; Salah, Firmino, Mane.
