Andy Hunter’s party report has arrived, so it’s time to wrap up this blog. Thank you for your company, good night!

And here is a smiling Carlo Ancelotti
“I am very happy for the club, for the fans. I can’t imagine if our fans were here, but I hope they celebrate tonight. It was a good performance, with a lot of encouragement. Richarlison is back, he’s scoring and playing very consistently. James is always the same, he has no physique but he has quality.
“We have played well away, but we have to find more consistency at home. [Can you finish in the top four?] The first four? Wait! We are fighting for Europe and now we are in a good position, and a performance like this deserves to increase the confidence of the team ”.

Here’s Seamus Coleman
“It is an incredible feeling. It has been difficult to come here for so many years and drop the blue side of the city. I was sick of coming out with the same cliches afterwards. We have the coach to thank for the way he prepared us, the players made an incredible change and that was against the champions so we are delighted.
“The coach told me to follow Andy Robertson and as a team he told us to compete and to try to break with the press when we could. Listen, when you have the advantage it’s hard to be brave and we probably don’t play as much as we would like. But Dominic came in and made a difference and we got the result.
“We have to move on now. This cannot be just a celebration, we have to start moving the football club forward and that goes back to games like Fulham and West Ham at home. We need to be better in all aspects.
“I’d be lying to you if I said I didn’t check my watch a couple of times when I was 1-0. I thought Jordan [Pickford] but in saying that he also felt comfortable in the game. That’s for all the Evertonians who have suffered in the last 10 years. “
19:28
Duncan Ferguson, delighted, embraces each Everton player. Carlo Ancelotti, calm as always, advances in his own time to hit the referees and then hug Seamus Coleman. This victory will do a lot for an emerging Everton team, both in the short and long term. Now they are tied on points with Liverpool and have a game on their hands. A place in the Champions League is a realistic ambition. He’s pretty good, this Ancelotti guy.

Full time: Liverpool 0-2 Everton
Peep! Everton have won at Anfield for the first time since 1999! It was a classic away performance: an early goal from Richarlison, a late penalty from Gylfi Sigurdsson and plenty of cool, determined defense in the middle. The three center halves – Holgate, Keane and Godfrey – were outstanding, while Jordan Pickford, under pressure, was flawless.

90 + 6 min Sigurdsson nearly made three, curving just 20 yards.
19:21
90 + 2 min Wijnaldum has not given up: he shoots a fine shot that curls from the edge of the area that is overturned by Pickford’s jump. This game couldn’t have been better for Pickford, who has made some good saves and some great saves.
19:20
89 min The penalty came after a majestic surge from Calvert-Lewin, who outplayed Alexander-Arnold on a 40-yard dash. He’s turning into a really good center forward, and he must be a nightmare to play against.
19:16
88 min After going almost four years without a home loss in the league, Liverpool have now lost four in a row. That is absolutely crazy.
19:15
87 min “Oh my God!!!!!!” says Mary Waltz. “I am going to buy a lottery ticket because the odds of Everton winning are almost the same. I’m playing that horrible Wilson Phillips song on a loop. The world has turned upside down !!!!!!!!!! “
19:15
86 min Alex Iwobi replaces Richarlison, who scored the first and started the counter for the second with a brilliant turn away from Phillips.
19:14
85 min “I felt that this period would be defined by Liverpool,” says Andrew Hurley, “but City will soon have won three of the last four Premier League. The point was well made about Klopp pushing his players to the ground, but it’s not his mentality to blame as well, constantly seeking to be the victim / complain in the first half of the season. This cannot convey anything other than negatively to your team. And, Thiago, it’s literally the opposite of how Liverpool played in the last four years, I never understood it.
Siege mindsets can be extremely effective, but I agree that you have to be very careful not to let it sink into defeatism. It can be healthy to think that it is you against the world. But it’s dangerous if you think the world is against you.

85 min Firmino zigzags past three players and shoots wide. A corner is given, wrongly, but nothing comes out.
19:13
83 min I’m still not sure about that penalty decision. Alexander-Arnold slipped in an attempt to stop the first shot, and was still slipping when Calvert-Lewin ran him over and he fell. The interesting thing is, having advised him to get closer to the monitor, Chris Kavanagh only took a cursory glance and then stuck to his original decision.
19:12
Alisson went the right way, but Sigurdsson rolled the ball gently into the corner. Everton win 2-0 at Anfield!

PENALTY TO EVERTON! Calvert-Lewin bursts into the goal and forces a good save from Alisson. The ball comes loose and Calvert-Lewin is about to get it into the net when he lands on the sliding Alexander-Arnold. Is that really a fault?

19:09
80 min Everton’s formation is now an 8-0-2 freestyle. Liverpool continue to dominate, although they still struggle to create clear chances.
19:05
77 min “Rob,” says Matt Dony, “could you write my comment earlier on revenge? I mean, revenge is a mean and messy concept. He is driven by negativity and looking back. It is much better to take the moral ground and not worry about revenge. Absolutely.”
19:05
76 min Alexander-Arnold’s cross shot is blocked by Godfrey, who has had a good game. In fact, the three central Everton have been excellent.
19:03
75 min Everton have possession in the Liverpool half. Two touches later, the ball is back with Jordan Pickford. It’s probably fair to say that they would settle for a 1-0 win.

19:01
73 min A loose ball lands very well for Firmino, 20 yards, but hits a desperate shot high and wide.
19:00
72 min Calvert-Lewin bursts into the box from the left, but then loses concentration and takes the ball out of play.
18:59
69 min: Pickford’s lifesaving! Firmino and Shaqiri combine very well to put Salah in goal. His first touch is superb, through Keane, and then he throws a shot from close range that is put out by Pickford. Salah didn’t have much room to work, but he was still an excellent and decisive Pickford goalkeeper.

18:57
69 min Everton are playing a straight 5-3-2 now, with Richarlison leading alongside Calvert-Lewin. However, it hasn’t made much of a difference: most of the game takes place in its half.
18:55
67 min Mane is cautioned for dissenting after being penalized for fouling Holgate.
18:54
65 min Mane plays good ball to overlapping Alexander-Arnold, whose first low cross passes over everyone in the six-yard area. Close close close.
18:53
64 min Sigurdsson, on the left side of the area, drives a ball that bounces directly to Alisson. At best, it was a half chance.

18:51
63 min Liverpool also make their second substitution. Xherdan Shaqiri replaces Curtis Jones.
18:51
62 min Another change from Everton: Dominic Calvert-Lewin replaces James Rodriguez, whose beautiful pass created the goal.
18:51
61 min: Chance for Everton! Coleman throws a pass behind the defense to Richarlison, who takes too long and loses the ball. It seemed offside, but the flag didn’t go up, and replays show it was definitely inside. That was a great opportunity, it should have hit him the first time, but he tried to get back at Phillips.

18:47
59 min A change for Everton: Glyfi Sigurdsson replaces Andre Gomes, who has been booked.
