Nottinghamshire County Council has organized a press conference as the county appears to be subject to Level 3 restrictions.

The meeting is scheduled to take place between 4:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. today, Wednesday, October 28.

Public Health Director Jonathan Gribbin and County Council Leader Kay Cutts are expected to speak at the briefing.

It comes as Councilor Jason Zadrozny, head of the Ashfield District Council, confirmed to Nottinghamshire Live that all areas of Nottinghamshire are now expected to be placed at level 3 by the government.

Gedling, Nottingham, Broxtowe and Rushcliffe were initially planned to enter Level 3 one minute after midnight on Thursday, October 29.

But, after a meeting between North Nottinghamshire leaders and the government at 9:30 a.m. M., It was revealed that the entire county will enter the new restrictions 24 hours later at 12:01 a.m. From Friday, October 30. This will have a minimum duration of 28 days.

Meanwhile, the government or local authorities have yet to reveal Nottinghamshire’s specific lockdown rules, and businesses have so far been left in the dark.

Council leaders across Nottinghamshire have criticized the government for the delay, and Nottingham South MP Lilian Greenwood has accused them of treating the county with “contempt”.

Councilor David Mellen, Nottingham City Council Leader, said in a previous statement: “Unacceptable delay in government confirmation of the details of Nottingham Level 3.

“Nottingham people and businesses deserve clarity in tough times. This is not good enough for our city. “
