The bomb squad is ready to assess the ‘suspicious items’ found on a property in south Manchester.
Residents have been evacuated following the discovery in Fallowfield tonight (Friday).
Police, paramedics and firefighters are on the scene.
Emergency services are stationed on Wilmslow Road, between Derby Road and Brook Road.
Some residents told the Manchester evening news they had been evacuated from their apartments on Wilmslow Road earlier in the evening.
A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Police are present at a property on Wilmslow Road, Fallowfield following the discovery of suspicious items within the property.
“A property has been evacuated as a precautionary measure while investigations are being conducted.
“Disposal of bombs should be done to make an assessment of the items found within the property.
“This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is not believed to be a broader threat.”
