Liam Payne has claimed that Jesy Nelson left Little Mix for the “same reasons” that his former bandmate Zayn Malik left One Direction.
The 27-year-old Strip That Down hitmaker chatted about the 29-year-old singer walking away from the girl group during a TikTok Live on Wednesday, sending ‘love’ to the band.
Comparing the exits, Liam said, ‘Someone Zayn came out … No, let’s be serious about this. It’s always sad right now that bands get involved in that kind of thing.

He continued: ‘It’s a difficult time and I feel sorry for them, because everyone is looking in that little fish tank right now.
‘No one really understands what’s going on and how it feels to some people [breaks into his new upcoming song] … I’m sending Little Mix a lot of love. ‘
MailOnline has contacted Jesy’s representatives for a comment.
Exit: Jesy, 29, revealed that she had left Little Mix on Monday and said the ‘constant pressure’ of being in the band for the past nine years has affected her mental health.
The two successful bands met on X Factor, and 1D formed in 2010 and lost Zayn as a member in 2015, while Little Mix won the show in 2011.
Zayn announced that he would be leaving the boy band with a statement shared on social media in March 2015 citing a desire to “hang out in private.”
He said: ‘My life with One Direction has been more than I could have imagined. But, after five years, I feel like now is the right time to leave the band.
“ I would like to apologize to the fans if I disappointed someone, but I have to do what feels right in my heart. I am leaving because I want to be a normal 22 year old who can relax and have some private time out of the limelight.

One Direction, which has been on hiatus since 2016, is a global phenomenon and has sold over 200 million records worldwide, with over 21 billion streams across all streaming platforms.
They have won nearly 200 awards, including 7 BRIT Awards, 4 MTV Music Awards, 6 Billboard Music Awards, 7 American Music Awards, and 28 Kids Choice Awards.
Jesy also broke the news of her departure from Little Mix to heartbroken fans with a lengthy statement shared on Instagram Monday night.

She wrote: ‘For all my Mixers, the last nine years at Little Mix have been the most incredible time of my life. We have achieved things that I never thought possible. From winning our first Brit award to our sold-out shows at the O2.
‘Making friends and fans all over the world I can’t thank you enough from the bottom of my heart for making me feel like the luckiest girl in the world. You have always been there to support and encourage me and I will never forget it.
“The truth is that being in the band recently has really affected my sanity. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very difficult.
“There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves instead of focusing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to start that process.
Emotional: Jesy shared a heartfelt statement on Monday in which she announced her departure and revealed that she wants to focus on the things that make her ‘happy’.
“So after much consideration and with a heavy heart, I am announcing that I am leaving Little Mix.”
Jesy excitedly added: ‘I need to spend time with the people I love, doing things that make me happy. I am ready to embark on a new chapter in my life; I’m not sure what it will be like right now, but I hope you’re still there to support.
‘I want to thank everyone involved in our journey. All the hard work and dedication that made us succeed.
‘To all the fans who came to see us in concert, who listened to our songs and sang with all their hearts, sent me messages and supported me along the way, I want you to know that I love you all so much and that I could never have done this without you and I thank you without ceasing.
Above all, I want to thank Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne for creating some of the most incredible memories that I will never forget. I hope you keep fulfilling all your dreams and keep making music that people love. I love Jesy x.
Support: The remaining trio also shared a supportive post on the band’s official account after Jesy announced the news.
Fans were devastated by the news as they sent their best wishes to both Jesy and the band in emotional messages.
While various celebrities, such as Dermot O’Leary and Frankie Bridge, reached out to the post to support Jesy while praising the star for her ‘brave’ decision.
Jesy’s ex-boyfriend Chris Hughes also showed his support and commented below her post with ‘the best’ along with a love heart emoji.
One person said: ‘I am crying … But I wish the best for Jesy and the girls … There are no words that can express the pain I am feeling right now … I am devastated.’
Since the news broke, Little Mix has promised to continue as a trio and has already made plans for the future.
Moving On: It comes when Little Mix reportedly promised to keep singing and has already made plans for the future with a new single ready for release in 2021.
A source has claimed that remaining members Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall already have a ready-to-go three-piece single.
They told The Sun: ‘The tour [Confetti] It could have been canceled if Perrie, Leigh-Anne and Jade didn’t want to continue, but they love Little Mix and they all decided they don’t want this to be the end.
There’s a new single with all three set to start next year, as well as other tracks, and there might even be a seventh album before the end of 2021.
‘2021 marks a decade of Little Mix and the girls are eager to start another ten years.’
They added that the girl group is in ‘advanced conversations’ about filming a second series of their hit singing talent show The Search.
