Newly promoted Leeds United will travel to the home of Premier League champions Liverpool for his first comeback match in the top flight of English football.
Leeds captain Liam Cooper traveled to Anfield with Hull City in 2009 and was one to forget. He was on the wrong side of a 6-1 win with Fernando Torres scoring a hat-trick while Ryan Babel pocketed a double and Steven Gerrard rounded the score.
Neither of those players are on the Reds anymore, but Jurgen Klopp’s team is arguably more formidable and any promoted team would be tired of being the visitors to the current champions in their first game of a new season.
But Cooper has shared that his reaction to Liverpool being first on the list of games was positive, as he sent a message to his teammates.
Speaking to the Yorkshire Evening Post, she said: “I told the guys when the accessories came out that there is nothing better.

The defender, who is currently on international service with Scotland alongside Liverpool’s Andy Robertson, has also stated that he would be happy if Leeds finished 17th next season, although they are obviously aiming higher as their visit to Anfield will give them their first. opportunity to show belong to the Premier League.
Cooper said: “It’s going to be a different mentality this year and we all know it, we’re not stupid, we don’t think we’re going to win the Premier League.
“I think every fan would be honest 17th place, we want to stay in this league.
“Obviously we want to go and finish higher and push maybe to be in the top 10, but in all honesty, we would all agree to stay in the league and that’s what it’s all about.
