Watch as the Prime Minister explains the new measures
The Prime Minister has said that the latest travel advice in Wales “does not mean there is no vacation”, after asking people to avoid unnecessary travel to slow the spread of the coronavirus.
He said people in England should think “very carefully” before taking non-essential trips to Wales, but are “not saying no” to holidays in the country for those living in areas not subject to blockade.
Comes after new measures were announced to help control the spread of Covid-19, including banning pubs, bars and restaurants serving alcohol after 10pm
During a news conference Wednesday, Mark Drakeford clarified that venues will not be required to close at that time.
He justified the curfew to drink at 10 p.m., and supermarkets were also recommended not to serve alcohol beyond that time, explaining that those who continue to have parties at home after leaving the pub “would be breaking the law. “.
Around 27% of the Welsh population is under local lockdown measures as the Welsh government continues to try to address the rise of the virus.

coronavirus cases per 100,000 people in Wales
The overall rate is now 46.8 cases per 100,000 people in Wales.
Speaking before new measures to go into effect in Wales on ThursdayDrakeford said he hopes people “think hard” following travel advice the government has put in place.
“The key guide is for people to think carefully about what they are doing and make reasonable judgments about their own circumstances.
“It is not a message about not going shopping or not going to the hotel or going on vacation, it is about thinking about the trips they can take.
“It is common sense advice, coronavirus regulations are not a game, it is not about thinking about how you can circumvent the rules, it is about asking yourself what you can do.”
There are no changes to the rules surrounding weddings, where 30 people can currently attend in Wales. In England, that number has dropped to 15.
Drakeford said: “If there is evidence, then we will have to act. If there is no evidence that it is causing harm, it will point us in a different direction.”
He also urged people to adhere to the rules with a reminder that ” [coronavirus] It has no cure or vaccine, we cannot let it take over our lives. “
Under new measures that go into effect in Wales on Thursday, pubs, cafes, restaurants and casinos are required to operate as table service only and close at 10pm.
There are no strict travel guidelines across the country, but there are restrictions for some areas in the local enclosure.
Although he admitted that traveling across the country from England would not be controlled in a “conventional sense”.
“It’s a call for people to think carefully about those trips,” continued Drakeford.
If they are necessary, you must do them. If they are not necessary, do not travel unless necessary. That is the message here in Wales.
“If they are necessary, you must do them. If they are not necessary, do not travel unless necessary. That is the message here in Wales. “
When asked if that meant that people should not travel through Wales on holiday, Drakeford said that was not what the Government of Wales said.
“Well, it is very possible to have a holiday in Wales without having to travel very far,” he said.
“People are going to make those decisions in their own circumstances, so we are not telling them that there is no vacation.”
