Apparently, Nintendo is struggling to adapt to the conditions imposed by the coronavirus blockade.
In fact, if new reports are created, the company may have a double dose of bad news for Nintendo Switch fans in 2020.
According to an article on Eurogamer, the company is planning to delay its annual June direct conference.
The company traditionally holds a direct presentation to coincide with the start of the E3 Gaming Expo in Los Angeles.
The cancellation of this year’s E3 event has given the platform’s editors and owners to hold their own conferences online.
Microsoft will unveil a selection of Xbox Series X games on May 7, while Sony reportedly will reveal the PS5 later this month.
Unfortunately, however, it appears that Nintendo will not be able to follow suit.
Apparently, the June Direct Direct conference has not only been delayed, but Nintendo may also delay some of its top-notch high-profile games.
Nintendo reportedly needs additional time to work on its first-party lineup, though things could change in the blink of an eye.
It was recently suggested that Nintendo has big plans for the anniversary of Mario’s 35-year-old home console in 2020.
During the next direct conference, Switch fans expect Nintendo to unveil a host of Super Mario 3D remasters.
This will reportedly take the form of a Super Mario All-Stars style 3D Mario game pack.
The package is said to contain new and improved versions of Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and then Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario Galaxy 2.
Less surprising is that Nintendo is also planning to release a remastered version of Wii U’s exclusive Super Mario 3D World.
In terms of new games, Nintendo is also said to be working on a new entry in the Paper Mario RPG series.
The first two Paper Mario games are great, especially The Thousand-Year Door, exclusive to Gamecube, which lives up to Metroid Prime and Wind Waker as one of the best games on the system.
The series began to decline with Super Paper Mario on the Wii, the less said about Sticker Star and Color Splash, the better.
Fortunately, however, the report suggests the new Paper Mario will go back to the roots of the series. If this is true, 2020 will truly become one of the best years in gaming.
Rumors suggest that Nintendo may wait until the end of summer to officially reveal its plans for Mario’s big anniversary.
