Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappé thanked Thomas Tuchel for “writing a wonderful part of the club’s history” and said “no one will forget” the German’s time in charge.

The 47-year-old won four national trophies last season and led PSG to the The Champions League final only four months ago, but she was fired on Christmas Eve and will be replaced by former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino at Parc des Princes.

The Ligue 1 champions got off to a disappointing start to the title defense under Tuchel and rank third in the table, one point behind joint leaders Lyon and Lille, after their 4-0 win over Strasbourg on Wednesday.

Just this week, Tuchel admitted that he was “angry” that his achievements were often overlooked and that it was a “great challenge” to keep people like Neymar and Mbappé happy in the French capital.

Mbappé and Tuchel had their differences and were involved in a fierce fight on the touchline during PSG’s clash with Montpellier in February, but the French forward shared a stylish message on social media in tribute to his former coach on Thursday for the night.

“Unfortunately, it is the law of football,” Mbappé posted on Instagram.

No one will forget your time here.

Tuchel, who previously managed Mainz and Borussia Dortmund, took over from Unai Emery at PSG in June 2018.

He only lost 19 of his 127 games in charge of the club, winning 95 and drawing 13.

Talks between PSG and Pochettino are understood to be at an advanced stage and an official announcement regarding Tuchel’s successor is expected in the coming days.
