Manchester United is STILL making money, despite the Covid crisis.

The pandemic has shut down Old Trafford for 12 months, costing United around £ 6 million in revenue each match day.

But qualifying for the Champions League this season helped close the money gap, despite United pulling out in the group stage to enter the Europa League.

United deposited £ 108.7 million in broadcast cash during the first three months of the season, an increase of £ 34 million compared to the same period in 2019.

That more than made up for the drop in gateway revenue, with United making just £ 1.5, compared to £ 33.1 million 12 months earlier. The club’s total revenue amounted to £ 172.8 million, an increase of £ 4.4 million, resulting in a profit of £ 63.9 million, although the club’s net debt amounted to £ 445, 5 million pounds.

Revealing the club’s latest financial results, Executive Vice President Ed Woodward admitted that the club is still in the midst of an unprecedented situation, although he believes there is “light at the end of the tunnel.”

On the other hand, Arsenal are behind the RB Leipzig defender and Manchester United are targeting Ibrahima Konate, according to reports.

And the Red Devils took another hit with reports suggesting that Manchester City and Real Madrid were leading the race for United’s goal, Erling Haaland.

Bild says they are two of six clubs the 20-year-old Norwegian is willing to join this summer. But City believe they can lure Haaland to the Etihad after signing his father Alf-Inge more than 20 years ago.

Haaland has continued his incredible form this season with 27 goals in 27 appearances for Dortmund. He scored 16 in 18 games last season, and before that he looted 28 in 22 starts for RB Salzburg.

And finally, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is sweating over who will play center-back against Manchester City on Sunday.

United will travel to the Etihad in the Manchester derby and their coach will wait until Sunday to decide whether Victor Lindelof or Eric Bailly will play alongside Harry Maguire.

Lindelof was an unused substitute in the Red Devils 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace yesterday and Solskjaer declined to confirm whether his back injury would keep him out of City.

After the game against Palace, Solskjaer said: “Victor struggled with his back, you know, when he plays on a Sunday night, it was a demanding game, he did very well and I didn’t want to play with him if he didn’t have a.

“And Eric is more than capable and he really played and he also played very well tonight.

“So [I’ll make a] decision on Sunday, I will not give [it] you now. Hopefully Victor’s back is fine [now] that he has had the rest he needs. “
