Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits that Arsenal’s defensive structure and counter-attack threat is what makes Mikel Arteta’s team so difficult for the best teams to face.

The champions will face the Gunners on Monday night, with both teams heading into the match with 100 percent records in the Premier League so far.

The last time the two teams met at the Community Shield in August, Arsenal won the game on penalties after the game ended 1-1 in regulation time.

A hallmark of the new look of the Arteta Gunners team is its defensive stability, with all 11 players working hard for the team, while the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang provides plenty of speed as he moves from defense to attack.

Klopp says their defense organization makes them a nightmare for teams trying to take them down.

“It is a defensive structure, they defend adequately,” admitted the German coach. ‘All the players are involved in their defense.

“They defend at 5-4-1 and when you have quality players that make things difficult for the opponents, then with the speed they have on the counterattack they can cause you problems.

“I can say a lot of positive things about Arsenal, but I think we still have a chance on Monday night.”

Klopp also believes that Arteta has already proven himself to be a top coach, despite joining the club last December.

“Mikel Arteta has shown in a short time that he seems like an exceptional football coach,” he added.

‘The structure of his team is exceptional, the balance of the team is really good. The whole mood of the club has changed. ”
