Cambridge have one of the strongest relationships in the royal family, but it hasn’t always been that way, according to royal biographer Katie Nicholl. In 2004, when the young couple had only been courting for a short time, they had a disagreement that threatened to tear them apart forever.
Kate and William met in Scotland at St Andrews University in 2001 when they were both freshmen.
Although they didn’t get together at first, it was only after the prince saw Kate walking in a campus fashion show that he decided to win her affection.
At a party, after the catwalk, the two shared a kiss, and the rest was history.
Kate had been seeing someone before dating William, yet she knew it was meant to be for her and the young royalty.
While their relationship was initially passionate during the early days of their romance, it soon faded away after the couple began living together with two other friends.
During this time, the press was unaware of the couple’s relationship that allowed them to have the privacy they craved.
However, being so young and living together put pressure on Kate and William’s relationship, and claustrophobia began to appear.

For a time, their relationship seemed to be going smoothly, however in late 2006 William decided not to spend Christmas with Kate’s family, causing friction once again for the couple.
After they both attended college, William had been serving in the military for a while, and that meant being stationed a considerable distance from Kate.
They naturally felt a distance between them, and there have been previous unfounded reports that William had a wandering eye during this period.
Kate felt like they could never spend a lot of time together and in early April 2007 they broke up again.
However, the couple realized that they couldn’t live without each other and they met only four months later.
Kate and William continued dating for about three more years, until they announced their engagement in November 2011 and were married in April 2011.
The Cambridges now isolate themselves in Norfolk, with their three young children.
Yesterday, Kate released a video of the royal family talking to nurses around the world for International Nurses Day to show solidarity with those who work in the health profession.
In the images shown, the duchess said: “I don’t know how he manages to do this and keep the show on track despite the additional pressures they face and the difficult conditions.
“It shows how vital the role that nurses play around the world is. You should be so proud of the work you do. “
