Jurgen Klopp claims that being a “proper team” will be key to winning the Premier League rather than cash.
The Liverpool manager is relaxed as he watches rivals Chelsea and Manchester City spend heavily in their attempts to dethrone their champions.
Liverpool kick off the new season against Arsenal in today’s Community Shield at Wembley and Klopp says the title won’t be decided by who can spend the most.
“It’s not about how many players he will sign,” Klopp said. “In the end everyone has to play with 11.
“Motivation will not be our problem. I know this team won’t stop trying and that’s all I need. I won’t stop trying, but I never expect things to just happen to me.
“I hope to give absolutely everything and the boys do too. That puts us in a position where we can be really competitive and that’s the first step in looking for titles.
“It’s about creating a unit that is absolutely difficult to beat and being a proper team that is willing to suffer for each other. That’s the most important thing, not who you can buy from at a very strange time in all of our lives. “

Liverpool are not expected to make any signings for the second summer in a row and Klopp says he is happy with the club’s transfer policy.
“We can’t just bring in five players because people want to be busy with it,” he said.
“All the years were more or less the same. I don’t think I ever bought enough players in a transfer window to satisfy everyone.
“It was always ‘Aaargh, we need another.’ But so far it worked. It’s really about what kind of mood we can create again for this season. “
