Wales winger Josh Adams has been released from the Wales squad after being suspended for the first two Six Nations games following a violation of Covid-19 protocols.
After the entire team was released from the camp on Saturday afternoon, Adams attended a gender reveal meeting with her immediate family in attendance on Sunday.
After the team rejoined on Tuesday at the Vale Resort, the gap was lifted and acted upon immediately, with Adams now out of Wales’ opening matches against Ireland and Scotland.
“We are very disappointed with the infringement and we have acted firmly and swiftly to take all appropriate action,” said Wales head coach Wayne Pivac.
“All players and management have received detailed information and education on our protocols, and they all have a responsibility to comply with the rules.
“This time Josh has made a mistake in judgment, made a mistake and has shown immediate remorse.
“He was present at a small immediate family reunion to celebrate a milestone with his loved ones, but that is against the rules and action had to be taken.”
Adams apologized for his actions, admitting that he had made a “mistake in judgment.”
“I would like to apologize without reservation,” said the winger.
“When I was away from camp on the weekend, I made an error in judgment. I attended a small immediate family reunion to celebrate a family milestone.
“It was wrong to do this. I am aware that everyone must follow the rules and, being in the public eye, I have a responsibility to lead by example and I have fallen short this time.
“I would like to apologize to my teammates and our fans for my mistake.”

Following the breach, the Welsh Rugby Union has moved to reiterate that all members of the national squad have received extensive information and education on the Covid-19 protocol.
They added that they will work with Adams on their integration back to camp after a new trial and reeducation process.
