José Mourinho fumes for the Tottenham stars and makes a comparison with Man Utd after the LASK draw

José Mourinho accused some of his egos of believing that they were too big to be frozen in Austria.

Goals from Gareth Bale, Son Heung Min and Dele Alli pushed Spurs to the knockout stages of Group J.

But Mourinho compared his team’s approach to the attitude shown by his former club Manchester United in the group stage of the Europa League.

“I have a feeling from my experience that some of the players feel like they shouldn’t be here,” he said.

“I think it is a question of attitude, which I have experienced before.

“Even at Manchester United I had a similar situation when we lost two away games in the group stage and when we get to the knockout stages you have better opponents and more difficulties, the team faces the games differently.

Mourinho was not at all happy with the display of his team

“The point is that the group stage of the Europa League does not motivate some players. I knew it. Some players are essential for us and I always need them on the field in any circumstance.

“I need a couple of these players to give the team a bit of balance, such as Hojbjerg e Son; without them I don’t think we would have a positive result.”

Mourinho’s team will now face Arsenal on Sunday, a match for which Harry Kane is available following his absence from this match with a mysterious injury.

“I think he will be in shape,” he added. “I’m not sure. He’s in treatment, but I could be bluffing or trying to pretend he’s in big trouble.

“He’s not in big trouble. I think he’s going to play.”
