José Mourinho has been criticized by London Mayor Sadiq Khan for conducting an individual training session with Tanguy Ndombele in a public park.

The Tottenham boss was photographed on social media flaunting government rules when meeting with the midfielder at Hadley Common on Tuesday, even though social distancing guidelines were maintained.

Fellow Spurs players Davinson Sánchez and Ryan Sessegnon were seen running side by side in a separate session, while Serge Aurier was filmed on Instagram alongside a friend.

Khan hit Mourinho on live television.

He said, “People, especially children who can support the Spurs or follow soccer, will see these images and say,” If it’s okay for them, why isn’t it okay for me? “

Ask yourself a question. Is what I’m doing really necessary? And the answer is no.

“What you are doing is inadvertently spreading the virus.”

North London Labor MP Catherine West added: “This is deeply irresponsible.

“Many people turn to football for their role models, and for the government’s crucial advice to ‘stay home’ so clearly flaunted is a kick in the teeth.”

Mourinho has since apologized

Mourinho raised his hands and admitted that he was wrong.

“I accept that my actions were not in line with government protocol and we should only have contact with members of our own home,” he said.

“It is vital that we all participate and follow government advice to support our heroes on the NHS and save lives.”

But it’s the latest bad news for the Spurs, who have received widespread criticism for their decision to suspend non-playing staff last week.
