Emmerdale and Coronation Street star Johnny Leeze has died at 78.
He is famous for his role as Ned Glover in Emmerdale from 1994 to 1999.
The actor reprized the role in 2000 before leaving soon after.
His daughter Holly broke the sad news that her famous father had died after a brief illness for two weeks.
The soap opera star’s daughter shared that Johnny had tested positive for coronavirus the day before his death.
Johnny also had underlying health problems, his brother Phillip revealed.
His daughter lovingly paid tribute to her father as her “friend”, a “strong man” and a “great guy”.
Holly told The Daily Star: “He was my friend, he was a very strong man.
“He was a great guy, a really funny guy. He was really loved by everyone. Even his ex-wife, who is with me today, my mom.”

“I don’t know what else to say. I’m numb, I just can’t understand him right now. I want to say a lot more about him, but I don’t know what to say.”
Tributes have been reaching the telenovela star on social media.
His brother Phillip shared loving words about the late star that “made thousands laugh and will be missed.”
He wrote: “I am so sorry to inform you all that my brother John passed away this morning. Many of you will remember him as Ned Glover in Emmerdale, or as comedian Johnny Leeze, on the club scene.”
“He had Covid and underlying health problems. He made thousands laugh. We will all miss him very much.”
“Rest in peace, John. Your loving brother Phil, and your sisters, Pam and Sheila. I know you’ll have them all in stitches up there. Fly high on angel wings.”
Johnny became famous for his role as Ned in Emmerdale.
The actor also worked as a comedian on the club scene.
Before his success on the soap opera Emmerdale, Johnny played Harry Clayton on Coronation Street for a few months in 1985.
