Jamie Carragher grabbed the popcorn to ease the tension between Gary Neville and Kia Joorabchian during a heated television debate.

The incident occurred when Joorabchian jumped in defense of his client Carlos Tevez on Sky Sports ‘The Football Show’ on Friday morning, after Neville accused the forward of “knocking down tools” at Manchester United.

The high-profile agent claimed that Neville “said something a couple of days ago and was completely wrong.”

However, the Manchester United icon stood firm and reaffirmed that Tevez became “disinterested and distracted” during his final months at Old Trafford.

Just as Neville was emphasizing his point, the camera switched to Carragher to find him eagerly eating a bag of popcorn in light of the debate at the box office that was unfolding.

Carragher made Neville and Joorabchian laugh with their antics.

Neville and Joorabchian laughed and the former said, “You are crazy, you. This is serious and you are playing!”

The conflict between the expert and the agent began when Neville claimed Wednesday that Tevez stopped trying during the end of his two-year stint with United in 2009.

“What bothered me about Tevez was that he shot down tools in his second season,” Neville told Sky Sports. “I started sitting on the treatment bench, I started going out late to train. I started playing.

“I was playing at the club, and I couldn’t bear that.”

“Particularly as he was at the time, the fierce Man Utd person on the inside never thought of anything else in my life, just in the United States every day.

“And the idea that someone would walk into that locker room and not only be at their best.”

Joorabchian struck back at Neville on Thursday, claiming that Tevez, now with Boca Juniors, was “desperate to play.”

The agent replied: “He (Tevez) scored 15 goals with seven assists, his record was excellent. Each time, he was available for each game bar, the three he lost due to injury.

“I think the professionalism of the person to be questioned is Gary Neville because he did not do his homework in Carlos’ career or as a reporter to say why Tevez was not [professional]”
