Leeds United winger Jack Harrison spoke about Wednesday night’s win against Newcastle United at Elland Road.
After coming back, the Whites put on a five-star performance, showing a lethal touch in front of goal until the final whistle.
Harrison and his teammates wanted to put on a winning display after losing last time at home, and that’s what they did.
“We’ve had some tough games and we were really hoping to come back and redeem ourselves tonight,” he explained.
“We knew how important it was to come out strong, be aggressive and play our regular game and we did exactly that tonight.”
Showing his energy and desire to the end, Harrison scored the fifth and final goal of the night for his team with an impressive 25-yard goal after a quick breakaway.
“It was just an impulse of the moment!” The winger explained about his goal.
“I didn’t really think about it too much and I think when I don’t think about it too much, that’s when the best things can happen.
“It was very lucky to get that one at the end, we always try to be intense and play until the final whistle.
“We want to be as aggressive and intense as we can. If you look at all the players doing long runs in the last few minutes, it shows our fitness level and how we want to play.
“We know how important it is for us to do that.”
The next step for the whites is a trip to Old Trafford, to face Manchester United.
“It’s important to us,” Harrison said.
“We know it means a lot to many Leeds United fans, so we look forward to another good performance against them.”
