Jack Grealish receives England’s first senior call-up as the duo retire

Grealish represented England at the under-21 level between 2016 and 2017

Jack Grealish has received his first call-up for the England senior team ahead of the next UEFA Nations League schedule.

However, Gareth Southgate will be without Marcus Rashford and Harry Winks for Group A2 matches in Iceland and Denmark.

Aston Villa captain Grealish has previously represented England at the Under-21 level and was a member of the winning team at Southgate’s 2016 Toulon Tournament.

Without Rashford and Winks and following the addition of Conor Coady and Ainsley Maitland-Niles on Saturday, the England manager will now begin his preparations with a squad of 24.

The Three Lions will face Iceland in Reykjavik on Saturday, September 5 (5pm BST) before traveling to Copenhagen to play against Denmark on Tuesday, September 8 (7.45pm BST). Both games will be broadcast live on Sky Sports.
