Fire crews, police and paramedics face a major explosion in an industrial area in Bristol.

People working near the site on Kings Weston Lane in Avonmouth reported hearing a loud explosion around 11.20 a.m. M.

One witness said he saw about 10 ambulances heading to the site, while another said nearby buildings shook.

Avon’s fire and rescue service said there had been multiple casualties.

A spokesperson said: “We have been called to a huge explosion at 11:22 am at a warehouse in Avonmouth on Kings Weston Lane.

“Teams from Avonmouth, Southmead, Yate, Patchway, Kingswood and Temple are currently in attendance. We can confirm that there are several victims at the scene.

“We are joined by the Avon and Somerset Police and the ambulance service on site. The incident is ongoing. “

The South Western Ambulance Service described the incident as “serious.” It said, “We have assisted with multiple resources along with fire and police personnel.”

A witness, Jawad Burhan, took a photo showing a container tank that appeared to have exploded.
