Ings starts for Southampton but Brewster remains on Sheffield United’s bench

Fit again Danny Ings (£ 8.4m) makes a welcome return to Southampton’s starting lineup, following his winning penalty in last Monday’s cameo at Brighton.

The English forward had contributed five goals and two assists in the first seven games of the season, until he suffered a knee injury at Aston Villa.

He replaces Moussa djenepo (£ 5.4m) on Ralph Hasenhuttl’s only trade, having kept the same team for the previous three games. Does it move Theo Walcott (£ 5.8 million) back to the left wing, keeping Nathan redmond (£ 6.4 million) in the bank.

Forward companion Che adams (£ 6.0m) has shaken up rotations from last season. Not only has he started every game, but he has completed the 90 minutes of the last five. However, now that Ings is back, Adams’ routine replacement may reappear.

As expected, the defense of Kyle Walker-Peters (£ 4.7 million), Ryan bertrand (£ 5.0 million) and recent scorers Jan Bednarek (£ 4.6 million) and Jannik Vestergaard (£ 4.9m) remains intact, with the latter pair scoring four goals in the final seven weeks of FPL play.

That’s mainly because of the king of the fixed piece James Ward-Prowse (£ 6.2 million), who has become a huge owner due to his three double-digit pitches since Gameweek 6. The only Saints asset with a larger property is the goalie Alex McCarthy (4.6 million pounds).

The visitors Sheffield United are rooted in last place with just one point so far – the worst start for a Premier League team. So his players are hardly owned by FPL managers, certainly not since last season’s defensive superstar. John lundstram (£ 5.0 million) was reclassified as a midfielder and at the same time left the side of the Blades.

Perhaps the only player of interest is the forward Rhian Brewster (4.5 million pounds sterling). Highly qualified in Liverpool, the youngster made a £ 23.5 million move to Bramall Lane over the summer, but has only started three times.

Without a goal, Brewster is back on the bench at Sheffield United, disappointing owners who may need him to replace the injured. Diogo Jota (£ 7.0 million) or James Rodriguez (7.7 million pounds sterling).

Manager Chris Wilder has made four changes to the lineup that lost 2-1 to Leicester, with Ethan Ampadu (£ 4.3 million), Even Stevens (£ 5.1m) and captain Billy sharp (£ 5.6m) coming in. Bargain defender Kean bryan (£ 4.0m) gives way to equally cheap cost Phil Jagielka (£ 4.0 million).

The Blades don’t have a clean sheet either, diminishing the goalkeeper’s appeal earlier in the season. Aaron Ramsdale (£ 4.8 million).

Southampton XI (4-4-2): McCarthy; Walker-Peters, Vestergaard, Bednarek, Bertrand; Armstrong, Ward-Prowse, Romeu, Walcott; Ings, Adams

Sheffield United XI (5-3-2): Ramsdale; Baldock, Basham, Egan, Jagielka, Stevens; Berge, Ampadu, Fleck; McBurnie, Sharp
