‘For me it happened at 6 weeks, so before we actually told anyone, then when you tell people, you are not just telling them that you were pregnant, but that you have lost a child.

‘I felt like I had failed me, I had failed Tom, I had failed the baby. It was my first contact with motherhood and I think it affected me in a very bad way. ”

Giovanna also spoke of being ‘scared’ to talk about her miscarriage at first when she first opened up about it.

‘It is a real rubbish that happens to so many people. All you really want at that moment is a hug.

‘You feel like your body has failed you and that is your first experience as a mother.

‘I got pregnant very quickly and had this thing in my head that it was too easy. After being worried for so long that it wouldn’t be easy, it just happened.

And then I aborted shortly after that and I think a part of me felt like that would happen, because I felt like it was too easy.

Because I felt like I hadn’t earned it. If that didn’t happen, I wouldn’t have Buzz and Buzz will always be my silver lining. ‘

Giovanna, who is the author of Happy Mum, Happy Baby, also said she hoped that by talking about her miscarriage, other women would feel “less alone.”

She said OK !: ‘There are also a lot of people who suffer miscarriages and when people start talking about it, they feel less alone.’
