How to see the International Space Station flying overhead throughout May

There is not much to do right now.

But if you lift your eyes to the sky during May, there is a chance to see the International Space Station (ISS) flying overhead.

There are plenty of opportunities to see NASA’s modern orbiting research facilities.

The glittering space station will hover over the UK multiple times, but will only be visible for a few minutes at a time.

It is currently inhabited by a crew and orbits at an altitude of approximately 264 miles, traveling around the earth 15 times a day.

The first space station expedition was launched in 2000 and people have lived on the space station since then.

It measures 357 feet from end to end, which is about the same length as a football field (which is actually 360 feet), and weighs around 925,000 pounds. It has more than 33,000 cubic feet (935 cubic meters) of living space.

The ISS is the third brightest object in the sky and looks like a fast-moving airplane, but it is dozens of times higher than any airplane and travels thousands of miles per hour faster.

If your city or town is not on the list, choose one that is close enough to you. NASA says the space station is visible for at least a 50-mile radius around each of the listed locations.

On April 30, free-flying robots and heart research filled the science program aboard the International Space Station. The Expedition 63 crew also handled cargo activities on a couple of refueling ships and cleaned up biology research equipment.
