Armed police were transferred to Dingle after a shooting that left innocent victims “shocked” but unharmed.

A shot was fired at a home on Dingle Lane shortly after 11 pm, and detectives said it was simply “good luck” that no one was injured.

Neighbors have told ECHO that they believe the gun was brandished during a skirmish that included a crash on the street.

Police were called to the scene at 11.15 pm Tuesday following reports of damage to a home.

It has since been confirmed that the property was hit by gunfire.

Detective Inspector Lisa Milligan said: “It appears that this incident, just by good luck, has not resulted in injury.

“We initially believed that the damaged address was not the target, and those occupants have been understandably shocked by what has happened.”

A witness told ECHO that he saw three cars traveling down Dingle Lane before one driver tried to cross another.

He said that while this was happening, shots were fired.

A damaged silver car surrounded by evidence markers at the scene is not believed to have been one of those three vehicles, but is believed to have been crushed during the drama.

Another neighbor said he heard the sound of three gunshots at the time of the incident.

Dingle Lane was cordoned off Wednesday morning as coroners scoured the street for clues and conducted investigations.

Det Insp Mulligan said: “If you know anything, please stop by and share with us, either directly or anonymously.
