Hilary Heath, also known as Hilary Dwyer, died at the age of 74 from coronavirus.

The British actress, who appeared in Witchfinder General and Wuthering Heights, died this week after contracting the deadly COVID-19.

His godson Alex Williams confirmed the tragic news on Facebook.

“We lost my wonderful godmother Hilary Heath to Covid-19 last week,” he wrote.

“Hilary had many careers, starting as a film and stage actress in the 1960s and 1970s, and then reinventing herself as a producer in the 1990s, making films like Nil by Mouth (Gary Oldman) and An Awfully Big Adventure (Hugh Grant , Alan Rickman).

“Her most notable reinvention came in the mid-1960s, when she earned an Oxford master’s degree in psychology and became an addiction counselor, specializing in CBT.

“He worked in clinics around the world, often for free, often with people in great need and distress, and considered this to be his most valuable work by far.

“She was a force of nature, and I cannot bear that she is no longer with us.”

Hilary was best known for her acting work alongside Vincent Price, first at Witchfinder General in 1968, then again at The Oblong Box in 1969 and The Cry Of The Banshee the following year.

He once spoke of his co-star: “I adored Vincent … I played his lover, his daughter, and his wife. And he said, ‘If you ever play my mother, I will marry you.'”

Hilary also appeared in multiple television shows, including roles in The Avengers, The Prisoners, Hadleigh, Van der Valk, and Space: 1999.

She was also known for her set design, captivating audiences in The Importance of Being Honest, Arms And The Man, and Whose Life Is It?

Hilary leaves her two children, Laura and Daniel, as well as her ex-husband Duncan Heath.

A host of celebrities have died after hiring COVID-19, which has now claimed the lives of more than 100,000 worldwide.

Beverly Hills Cop II star Allen Garfield died this week after contracting the infection at her nursing home, the Motion Picture Television Fund Home, which deals with retired actors in her predicament.

And American singer-songwriter John Prine died after being rushed to hospital with complications from the deadly virus.
