No wonder West Ham fans were so angry about the sale of Grady Diangana!
Hammers fans and gamers alike created a major scandal when their academy product was sold to West Brom for £ 18 million earlier this summer.
The 20-year-old was one of the biggest stars of the Championship on loan with the Baggies last season and captain Mark Noble was one of many who criticized the club’s decision to sell.
Well, they were right.
Diangana showed her talents with an impressive goal for West Brom at Everton on Saturday, charging from her own half before overtaking Jordan Pickford.
Diangana’s brilliant goal wasn’t enough to get West Brom anything out of the game as they fell to a 5-2 loss at Goodison Park.
The crazy game saw Dominic Calvert-Lewin score a hat-trick, a delicious free throw from Matheus Pereira and a masterclass from James Rodriguez as he scored his first Toffees goal.
If that wasn’t enough, Kieran Gibbs was shown the red card for shoving Rodriguez in the face moments after the Colombian scored at halftime.
Baggies boss Slaven Bilic was himself expelled over animated protests over the Gibbs / Rodriguez incident.
West Ham fans would have been watching in disgust as the England youth international burst onto the scene in the Premier League.
However, talkSPORT host Jim White has insisted that the Hammers were forced to sell Diangana to fund other businesses.
“A source close to the owners contacted me last night,” White said. “In his defense, the source tells me that there are eight players who can play on the band, including Grady Diangana.
“Grady Diangana was the only one they had an offer for and the coach is desperate to strengthen the defense.
“The owners weren’t willing to sell, but they felt they had no alternative here.”
We’re not sure West Ham fans will see it that way.
