The Department of Health and Welfare has confirmed that Nottinghamshire will enter level 3 restrictions later this week.
The entire county will now be listed at level 3 after a meeting between North Nottinghamshire leaders and the government earlier today.
The new measures will take effect at 00.01am on Friday, October 30.
Ashfield, Bassetlaw, Broxtowe, Gedling, Mansfield, Newark and Sherwood, Nottingham and Rushcliffe will go from high to very high local COVID alert level.
All hospitality venues will be forced to close, unless they serve large meals, and people will no longer be able to socialize with anyone outside of their home or bubble.
The sale of alcohol will also be prohibited after 9 p.m. M. In stores, but you can continue to consume in places of hospitality until the curfew at 10 pm. M.
Gyms and hair salons will be allowed to remain open. Tattoo parlors, nail and tanning parlors, and piercing services must close.
Indoor entertainment and sightseeing venues must close, except for ice skating rinks, cinemas, concert halls, and theaters. Hotels and other accommodations may remain open.
Betting shops, trunk sales and auction houses will also be closed.
Health and Social Care Secretary Matt Hancock said: “We have seen a sharp increase in infection rates in Nottinghamshire and, in close collaboration with local leaders, we have agreed on a package of local measures to stop this virus in its tracks.
“I understand how difficult life is under these restrictions and the impact they have on families and businesses, but we never make these decisions lightly.
“I want to thank the local leaders for their continued support and extend my gratitude to the people of Nottinghamshire who have shown true resilience, consistently working together to follow the rules and help reduce infection rates.
“Everyone has a role to play in controlling the virus, remember Hands, Face, Space, isolate yourself and get tested if you have symptoms and follow the rules where you live.”
Council leaders across Nottinghamshire have criticized the government’s delay in imposing the restrictions, as talks have been ongoing for several days.
Nottingham South MP Lilian Greenwood accused the government of treating the county with “contempt”.
Councilor David Mellen, Nottingham City Council Leader, said in a previous statement: “Unacceptable delay in government confirmation of the details of Nottingham Level 3.
“Nottingham people and businesses deserve clarity in tough times. This is not good enough for our city. “
