Gogglebox star Sophie Sandiford has opened up about losing her job at Debenhams in her latest social media post.

The 24-year-old reality star is one of thousands of employees whose jobs were put at risk after Debenhams confirmed he was going to be liquidated, Mirror reports.

Today (Wednesday), Sophie, who appears on the Chanel 4 Gogglebox with her brother Pete, shared a photo of her and a friend at the Debenhams entrance.

Addressing her fans on Instagram, she vowed to keep smiling despite the collapse of the retail store she had worked at.

“We may go, but we go with a smile #debenhams,” Sophie wrote next to the message.

The star’s post has been inundated with messages as fans flocked to show their support for the retail worker.

Sophie’s post came a day after the 124 Debenhams stores were confirmed to close after final efforts to save the chain failed.

An estimated 12,000 employees are likely to lose their jobs.

In early November, Sophie sobbed during an episode of Gogglebox following Boris Johnson’s announcement that there would be a second lockdown.

She burst into tears as she reflected on the jobs and livelihoods of those affected by the latest lockdown measures.

He added that the confinement was “a shit for everyone.”
