Early Wednesday morning, Donald Trump prematurely claimed that he was driving to Georgia, and several other states that it was too early to call.

Joe Biden, on Wednesday, spoke about the election results and told the crowd: “We are still in the game in Georgia, although it is not what we expected.”
The race is too early to call because it is estimated that 4 percent of the votes remain to be counted. That includes ballots mailed from densely populated counties in the Atlanta metropolitan region that lean toward the Democrats.
Biden is outperforming Hillary Clinton’s 2016 performance in those counties, even in their most exclusive suburbs.
With an estimated 95 percent of the votes counted, Trump only has a 0.6 percent lead.
In Georgia, Republican Senator Kelly Loeffler and Democrat Raphael Warnock advanced to a runoff on January 5 in special elections for Ms. Loeffler’s Senate seat.
They are the top two finishers in a crowded field that also included Republican Rep. Doug Collins. But no candidate was able to reach the 50 percent threshold necessary to win completely.
Mrs. Loeffler, a wealthy businesswoman, was appointed last year to replace retired Senator Johnny Isakson. Mr. Warnock is pastor of the Atlanta church where the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. preached.
