George Michael’s former lover, Kenny Goss, is suing the singer’s family in an attempt to obtain £ 15,000 a month from the late star’s estate.

The 62-year-old Texan allegedly claims that he depended on George’s money when he was alive and therefore should still be supporting himself.

George, who died on Christmas Day 2016 at the age of 53, left Goss no money in his will, but apparently paid him a generous monthly allowance before their separation in 2009.

Former art dealer Goss claims George “was not in his right mind” when he made the will, according to The Sun.

Most of the singer’s £ 97.6 million fortune went to his sisters Melanie and Yioda, with smaller amounts going to his father Kyriacos and his close friends and former employees.

His partner at the time of his death, Fadi Fawaz, was also left with nothing.

Goss allegedly claims that she gave up her career to care for George during their 13-year relationship.

He is suing Yioda, who is George’s only surviving sister after Melanie died at 59 last Christmas, and Kyriacos and wants at least £ 15,000 a month.

A source told The Sun: ‘His argument is that he gave up his own career to focus on his relationship and also established a charitable foundation alongside George.

“ Basically, he received an incredibly generous allowance that he came to depend on.

Kenny believes that as George’s most important partner, he is still entitled to that and is contesting that George was not in his right mind when he made his last will. Kenny wants at least £ 15,000 a month to live on.

It wasn’t until June of last year that George’s estate was finally divided.

The singer left it up to his sister to decide which of his friends would receive part of his will.

But Goss and Fawaz were completely left out.

In March 2017, the 60-year-old Texan art dealer opened up to the Dallas Morning News about the couple’s relationship, which ended in 2009 and was announced in 2011.

He said: ‘We had a really good and sweet relationship. We weren’t even mad at each other or anything like that. He was truly the love of my life. And I think I was the love of his life. ‘

In the wake of the singer’s sudden death on Christmas Day, Kenny issued a moving declaration of mourning for his former lover.

“I am heartbroken by the news that my dear friend and longtime love George Michael has passed away,” he wrote. He was an important part of my life and I loved him very, very much. He was an extremely kind and generous man.

“The beautiful memories and the music that he brought to the world will always be an important part of my life and of those who also loved and admired him.”
