Gary Neville believes that Paul Pogba is Manchester United’s most likely player to ever win a Ballon d’Or, but it seems that not everyone agrees.
Great things were expected of Pogba when he completed a club record £ 89m move to United since Juventus in 2016.
But for one reason or another, the World Cup winner has never reached top speed in the Red Devils’ colors, despite great chances.
Neville has been critical of Pogba in the past, but is still confident that the Frenchman can be good for United now that he has overcome an ankle injury.
When asked in a question and answer session on Twitter which United star could win the most prestigious individual award in football, Neville replied: “Most likely, Paul Pogba.”

Then the Sky Sports presenter was asked: “If Pogba lowers his head and starts playing at a level that we expect, and with Bruno [Fernandes] doing what you have, where do you think we could go as a team? “
To which Neville replied: “They could be amazing together if they commit and work to help each other.”
Neville is a highly respected expert, often known for speaking meaningfully on topics related to soccer and his surroundings. But it seems that several soccer fans believe he is out of line with his comments about Pogba.
A fan on Twitter wrote, “Drop in here en masse, Gary. Paul Pogba will never get close to the Ballon d’Or simply because it’s terrible.”
Another added: “Pogba is not even among the two best Manchester midfielders,” while a third wrote: “Pogba never smells a Ballon d’Or. Stop fooling yourself.”
A fourth concluded: “Pogba will never win a Ballon d’Or. In my opinion, he doesn’t have the consistency (nor the talent).”
