Gary Neville has compared Tammy Abraham to Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino after the Chelsea striker scored twice to fire West Ham on Monday night.
Abraham staked his right to return to the forefront of Frank Lampard’s plans with his brace against the Hammers, returning to the starting lineup in Olivier Giroud’s place for a 3-0 victory.
The English international started the season as Lampard’s preferred choice in the forward striker role, but Giroud managed to clinch the title by impressing in the Europa League and off the bench in the Premier League.
However, after back-to-back defeats, Abraham had a chance to regain his place and took it.

After witnessing the forward’s double, the Manchester United legend turned Sky Sports expert spoke about Abraham’s role for Chelsea, comparing him to Liverpool’s Firmino.
“He’s going to get 12-15 goals, the pressure will come on him when they say Chelsea need a scorer,” he said.
“I know they have Werner, who can score from wide areas, but when the center forward doesn’t score 15-20 goals a season, he will be under pressure. He has to get those goals early in the season.
“I think there was a great relief on his face when he was doing that interview.
“It could be Liverpool’s Firmino, who is sometimes questioned a bit for not scoring enough goals.
“But I don’t think anyone who knows football will question him because they know what he brings to the other two, they get more applause and they score goals, but he does a lot of the work that supports him.
“I think they will put pressure on him in Chelsea. A young forward, an English center forward, he just needs to keep scoring goals to keep people away from him, to make sure those clouds don’t pile up.
