PS5 PlayStation 5 Community Designs Feature 1

Last week, we presented our readers with a task. We were curious to know what you think the PlayStation 5 will look like, so we ask that you send us your own designs. If you had a vision for PS5, whether serious or silly, we wanted to see it. Fortunately, our community was up to the challenge, sending us all kinds of gorgeous PS5 designs. Now, it’s time for us to brag about them.

Before doing so, we would like to thank everyone who took the time to join this silly idea. We know that everyone is fed up with waiting for Sony to show us the latest generation machine, so we opened the floor to express themselves, and we are very happy with the results. Let’s take a look, shall we?

Note: Excuse the names we have given to each design. We did this for the sake of the survey below.

Let’s start with the most elegant of the group. This PS5 mockup, from graphic designer and reader Paulo Manso, imagines Sony’s next-gen box as a sleek, slim machine. It echoes the PS4 design, particularly the slim model, and we really like how it looks. White looks especially nice, but the black version is also great. We’ll be happy to take one of these off the shelf.

Here’s another one created by a graphic artist. Jacob Estep has unveiled a simple but quite elegant design here, encompassing the dual-tone color scheme of the DualSense PS5 controller. We’re not sure if the console is viewed from above or from the side here, but we still like the smooth edges and minimalist nature of this design.

A great effort here that is probably quite realistic. Again, this adheres to what we’ve already seen with DualSense, with most of the PS5 in white with black playing the second violin in the lower half. The blue outline is a nice touch – it would be great if it lit up. Perhaps the color could change under certain conditions?

The name is partially inspired by the pencil and paper approach and partly by the look of the console. However, don’t get us wrong, we really like this one. It’s certainly a very different shape than the norm, but it emphasizes the black and white color scheme and looks like a neat, futuristic box.

# 5: Simplicity itself by Grimwood

It is difficult to argue with this pointless approach. What will the PS5 be like? A simple box, of course. Thanks for bringing us back to Earth, Grimwood.

Hope for? This entry was made in Super Mario Maker 2, so we have a PS5 made entirely from Mario’s assets. A very interesting design, but we are afraid that having a logo made of Bob-ombs could be a bit dangerous. Skulls around the edges also suggest that this particular console is life-threatening. An imaginative but insecure representation of the PS5.

# 7: Fridge Edition by andreoni79

There is something chilling about this entry. It’s certainly a cool design, but it reminds us of something, and we can’t pinpoint what. Oh wait! Xbox Series X. I got to the end.

PS5 PlayStation 5 Community Designs Feature 13andreoni79

Another attempt at PS5 design from andreoni79, and we’re a huge fan of this one. Implying that PS5 will need a large cooling system to deal with its raw power, we wouldn’t be surprised at all if this is close to the real deal.

PS5 PlayStation 5 Community Designs Feature 14RogerRoger

There is a lot to see here, but this is a fantastic attempt. RogerRoger presents a PS5 with support for 8K, literally consisting of 8K, each with a disk slot. SCART input, teraflip-flops and DualSense noise package are also inspired additions. We will be very lucky if PS5 ends like this.

PS5 PlayStation 5 Community Designs Feature 15Lieutenant Fatman

Absolutely terrifying. Imagine that the PS5 razes major cities with deadly lasers; people would not only lose their lives, the console would not fit our TV mount. It would be a real shame if Big Ben caught fire, considering that it is currently undergoing serious renovations.

# 11: We don’t even know from ralphdibny

We … Okay, so this PS5 console has a face? And it comes with two DualSense controllers … which ones are huge? And do you wear them? Look Ralphdibny, we’ll need some explanation here.

PS5 PlayStation 5 Community Designs Feature 17ralphdibny

Oh great. That cleared up, thanks.

PS5 PlayStation 5 Community Designs Feature 18Octane

# 12: Octane CernyStation

Of course. Why waste time making Mark Cerny try to explain to Sony engineers what he imagines for PS5? Just plug it directly into the box and you’re done with it. The floating head of the main architect of the PS5 system is an ingenious focal point, and we imagine that he can also talk to you during games to keep you calm. The jet engine will be an absolute must if the PS5 is really slipping out of Cerny’s brain. Nothing less could keep up with that kind of power.

Wow. Again, many thanks to everyone who submitted a PS5 design. From the gorgeous 3D renders to the utterly absurd, we love you all. But which one do you like the most? Vote in the poll and tell us which are your favorites in the comments below.
