Investigating Officer PC Ed Moore said: “The victim was stabbed multiple times in the chest and back and was very fortunate not to have suffered more serious injuries.

Witnesses have described seeing three men chasing him through Victoria Park before fleeing after the incident on Vallis Way.

“CCTV in the area has been reviewed as part of our investigation and we are now posting images of three men who we believe can help us.

“We appreciate that it is difficult to recognize the people in the images, but we hope it can help someone to remember seeing something suspicious on the night of Friday, July 24.”
