In the long statement, Florence started by saying she hoped fans were “still fine, healthy and safe,” before admitting that she had “struggled with the idea in the past few days about whether she should make this video.”
The Midsommar actress said she wanted to do it for her “peace of mind” as she said, “On Monday I posted a photo in honor of Zach’s birthday and wrote him a birthday message.
‘About eight minutes after the photo was posted, I had about 70 people in the comments that were abusing and horrible, and basically intimidating someone on my page.
“ It is the first time in my entire Instagram life that I have to turn off comments on my page, I have never been an Instagram page that encourages it, I have never been an Instagram page that likes that toxic environment.

“We need to love each other, the world is hurting and the world is dying and some of you have decided to intimidate for no reason.”
Referring to her 20-year age difference, Florence added: ‘I’m 24 years old, I’ve been working since I was 17 years old, I’ve been making money since I was 17 years old, I became an adult when I was 18 years old and I started paying taxes when I was 18, I underline this fact, I am 24 years old.
‘I don’t need you to tell me who I should and who shouldn’t love, and I would never in my life tell anyone who they can and cannot love.
Shocked: Florence said of the post: “Within eight minutes of the photo being released, there were about 70 people in the comments that were abusing and horrible.”
‘It is not your place, and it really has nothing to do with you, so if those rules are something you don’t like, please stop following me because the abuse you are throwing at them is the abuse you are throwing at me and me no I don’t want those followers, and I don’t want to have to protect my comments every time I post a photo of him.
“I really hope I can continue this relationship with many of you, and be able to continue cooking and continue dancing, and continue singing, but I don’t want that on my page.”
Florence added: “ It’s embarrassing, sad, and I don’t know when cyber bullying became fashionable, I don’t know when it became a point system, I don’t know why it’s a good thing, and that’s never been what my page has been covered.
So here it is for you, and I hope we can continue to be positive, and for those who disagree with anything I have just said, I kindly ask you to stop following me because that is not my page. Be safe, try and be positive during all this, and we’ll see you soon.
