Five coronavirus patients died today in a fire at a Russian hospital due to a short circuit that ignited a ventilation machine.
One hell spread through a Covid-19 intensive care ward at St. George City Hospital in St. Petersburg. A total of 150 patients were evacuated.
It is understood that the five people who died were connected to fans at that time.

Eleven in the same room on the sixth floor were rescued and taken to the ground floor of the hospital.
“A malfunction of electrical equipment, a short circuit failure, is considered the preliminary reason,” said a spokesman for the emergency services.
The fire destroyed 108 square feet inside the hospital after the sudden fire at 6.20 a.m. (4.20 a.m., UK time).
A total of 150 patients were evacuated from St. George City Hospital, emergency services said.

Fire rescue teams gathered in the hospital parking lot and on a nearby highway to deal with the fire.

On Saturday, a 95-year-old woman, Evdokia Butryakova, died in a Moscow hospital when an oxygen balloon that supplied a ventilator exploded and caused a fire that led to the evacuation of 295 patients.
The charred body of the pensioner was found after the fire at Hospital Clinico 50 was extinguished.
Authorities are examining the causes of both fires.
