Facundo Pellistri named Marcus Rashford, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Edinson Cavani as four players he enjoys training with at Manchester United.
The 18-year-old came to United from Uruguayan Peñarol and has gone through a period of adjustment at Old Trafford since moving, for a starting value of £ 9 million.
And while Pellistri, a talented young winger who has impressed in United’s Under-23s, is still awaiting his senior career debut, he enjoys training with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first team on a regular basis.
In an interview with MUTV named the first-team quartet, which predictably included compatriot Cavani, as four players he’s learning from.
“I am settled here,” Pellistri said. “Thanks to my teammates and obviously my family from Uruguay, now I feel at home in this country, which is completely new to me.
“Most of the South American teammates are the ones I am closest to but, obviously, I am fine with everyone. All the teammates here are very friendly, in the first team, and also in the U-23s that I started playing with him. I have met a lot of guys who were very nice to me and that’s very important. “
Pellistri admitted that some United players were like idols to him, having watched them from afar in the past, but he is taking a great deal of training with them in close proximity.
He added: “It’s been amazing training with guys like Rashford, Pogba, Mata and Edi [Cavani], which is a very good friend of mine. It’s amazing to me because I saw them on TV and now I’m practicing with them.
“The intensity, the quality they have, it’s great for me to play with them and I improve a lot.
Manchester United extended their unbeaten streak in the Premier League to 10 games, as they recorded a deserved 2-1 victory over Aston Villa on New Year’s Day.
Goals from Anthony Martial and Bruno Fernandes did the job as United kept up the pressure on defending champions and league leaders Liverpool.
United’s next game is against City in the Carabao Cup semi-final midweek.

“I talk to Edi all the time and he is a very nice person. He is always trying to be close to me, giving me advice and everything I need. He is there to help me and that is very important to me. I am very happy with that.
“I know he is one of the best players in the world and one of the best Uruguay players of all time, but he is also a very nice person.”
