Everton vs Leicester lineups with Andre Gomes and Gylfi Sigurdsson decision made

‘Carlo Ancelotti has a formula and training at the moment’

Phil Kirkbride: Having spent the last few games adjusting and experimenting, Carlo Ancelotti landed in a formation and lineup that works for Everton right now.

And then I should stick with it.

Sure, it’s a line-up that asks a lot from Dominic Calvert-Lewin and requires Richarlison to put up one of those lung-busting kinds of displays we’ve come to admire.

But, with the players at Ancelotti’s disposal right now, it brings out the best in the team and it seems like the best way for the Blues to navigate what promises to be a tough night in Leicester.

My team (4-4-1-1): Pickford; Holgate, Keane, Mina, Godfrey; Iwobi, Doucoure, Allan, Richarlison; Sigurdsson; Calvert-Lewin.

‘Andre Gomes offers a difficult decision, but he keeps winning the team together’

Sean Bradbury: It’s hard to see where Carlo Ancelotti could make changes for this one.

With Seamus Coleman and James Rodriguez still on the sidelines, there is no one else banging on the door to alter the starting eleven that beat Chelsea.

Of course, the boss has been talking about the need for rotation as we enter the hectic Christmas period.

Bernard, Andre Gomes and Tom Davies are perhaps candidates to enter at some point.

I was very tempted to go with Gomes here because of Abdoulaye Doucoure, who has started every league game and has already accumulated more than 1,000 minutes.

But I would stick with a winning team to try to gain even more momentum after the win over Frank Lampard’s men.

Opportunities to mix it up may come later.

And it will be interesting to see if Gylfi Sigurdsson can shine again in an advanced role.

My team (4-4-1-1): Pickford; Holgate, Keane, Mina, Godfrey; Iwobi, Doucoure, Allan, Richarlison; Sigurdsson; Calvert-Lewin.

‘Nothing you can criticize, so nothing should change’

Connor O’Neill: For the first time in a long time, there is nothing I can criticize about Everton’s performance against Chelsea at the weekend.

The Blues were solid on the back and looked dangerous on the counter.

As a result of that impressive display, Carlo Ancelotti should name an unchanged team for tonight’s game with Leicester City.

The last five should be made up of Jordan Pickford, Mason Holgate, Michael Keane, Yerry Mina and Ben Godfrey.

While Gylfi Sigurdsson should start over in midfield with Allan and Abdoulaye Doucoure, with Alex Iwobi and Richarlison on each flank, and Dominc Calvert-Lewin at the top.

My team (4-4-1-1): Pickford; Holgate, Keane, Mina, Godfrey; Iwobi, Doucoure, Allan, Richarlison; Sigurdsson; Calvert-Lewin.
