Robin Olsen 7 – He made a surprise start and made a good save from Cengiz Under. Nearly gift-wrapped Jamie Vardy had a chance after miscommunication with Yerry Mina, but seemed certain otherwise.
Mason Holgate 8 – He endured several nervous moments against Harvey Barnes, and was insane in one case, but he stood his ground and was eager to move on. He did very well to stay alive on the ball for his goal. A leader of this team. Reserved.
Michael Keane 8 – Positionally outstanding. It gets in the way of absolutely everything and is a calming influence on the back. Certainly in the form of his Everton career. He was not at all bothered by Vardy’s rhythm
Yerry Mina 8 – He seemed to enjoy his personal battle with Vardy and gave it a bang for good measure. Tidy in possession and showed the kind of performance expected from a former Barcelona defender.
Ben Godfrey 7 – It doesn’t mean much, but that’s how Carlo Ancelotti will have wanted it from his makeshift left-back. He stayed solid even when picking up a reserve early in the second half. Mature beyond his years.
Allan 8 – The best player on the field until his cruel injury. He relentlessly covered the ground and nearly created a goal for Dominic Calvert-Lewin. He left the field holding his hamstring. It will be a massive hit. Replaced by Andre Gomes.
Abdoulaye Doucoure 9– An outstanding performance. Initially the ideal complement to the active Allan, Doucoure took it up a notch when his midfield partner left. He was a monster outside the ball and was made up on it. He kept Everton in the lead at a crucial moment when he was also following Vardy.
Gylfi Sigurdsson 7 – Dangerous from set pieces and he was always going to create a goal. Two of his best performances in a royal blue jersey have come in the past four days. He seems a lot more engaged, which is what everyone wanted to see.
Alex Iwobi 7 – Bright and energetic, but he needs to hit his last ball. Sometimes he slows down his run to keep the ball on his right foot. Overall though, another promising performance with plenty of defensive vigor. Replaced by Jonjoe Kenny.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin 7 – Even without serve, he still sacrifices himself for the team and gives Everton the much-needed moments to breathe. The bad luck of not scoring before Holgate finished second and missed a decent opening in the first half. Replaced by Anthony Gordon.
Richarlison 9 – How important is it for Everton? Another great moment with a good shot from outside the penalty area and his work pace was relentless. He’s a world-class talent and he gave Leicester a scare.
Andre Gomes 6 (replaces Allan, 41) – Tidy, if not spectacular, with the ball. Cautioned for a foul on Harvey Barnes who stopped a dangerous counterattack and had a penalty against him, before being disallowed. Ultimately, he’s still a bit far from the player who first came to Merseyside.
Anthony Gordon (replaces Dominic Calvert-Lewin, 89) – Good to see you back.
Jonjoe Kenny (replaces Alex Iwobi, 90) – Scouser.
