Chris Robshaw, Richard Wigglesworth, Sean Maitland and Jackson Wray are among 12 Barbarians players who withdrew from Sunday’s game against England after breaking Covid-related rules.

The players left their hotel bubble against team protocols to dine at a central London restaurant.

Sunday’s game is up for grabs as the barbarians try to recruit enough players to replace the retired ones.

However, there are signs that they remain confident of forming a team.

In addition to Wigglesworth, Wray and Maitland, it is understood that other Saracen players also participated.

Barbarian FC expressed “extreme disappointment” at the conduct of players who violated the rules.

They had only announced their 23-man squad on Wednesday and face a considerable task to replace those sent off.
