After Elliot Page came out as transgender on Tuesday, many fans wondered what will happen to her role on The Umbrella Academy.
The popular Netflix superhero series sees the actor play the role of Vanya Hargreeves, a woman with the ability to harness sound and turn it into energy.
According to Variety, nothing is going to change and Elliot, 33, will continue to play Vanya.

Elliot, formerly known as Ellen Page, came out publicly as a transgender man on Tuesday and told his followers on Twitter: ‘Hello friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronouns are he / they and my name is Elliot. .
‘I feel lucky to be writing this. Having come to this place in my life.
The actor has been married to dancer Emma Portner, 26, since 2018, and came out publicly gay in 2014.
In his statement, Elliot did not reveal what stage of his transition process he is in, nor did he share whether he has undergone or plans to undergo hormone therapy or surgery.

Elliot, who will currently begin filming the third season of the Netflix hit The Umbrella Academy in February, also revealed changes to his official social media accounts, posting on Twitter under the username @TheElliotPage and on Instagram as @elliotpage.
Variety reports that Elliot’s name has also been updated on The Umbrella Academy’s IMDB page, while Netflix is in the process of updating his name in the metadata for all titles.

Shortly after the actor posted the statement, his wife Emma expressed public support for him on Instagram, while reiterating her partner’s request for patience.
‘I am very proud of @elliotpage. Trans, queer and non-binary people are a gift to this world, ” Emma wrote.
‘I also ask for patience and privacy [and] May you join me in fervently supporting trans life every day. Elliot’s existence is a gift in itself. Shine on sweet E. I love you so much. ‘

Elliot’s decision to publicly reveal that he is transgender comes nearly three years after the couple married in a secret ceremony, after having been publicly dating for six months.
Before their relationship, the Juno Elliot star had been linked to several different partners, both male and female, including Big Little Lies star Alexander Skarsgård and actress Shailene Woodley, although their romance was never confirmed.
He also dated artist Samantha Thomas for 18 months, and the couple separated only a few months before Elliot married Emma.
