Flooding and a reported “landslide” at the Eden Project attraction in St Blazey, Cornwall, forced the site to close.
A source has told Cornwall Live that: “There is a major incident at the Eden Project with a landslide forcing the entire site to be evacuated.”
A spokesperson for the Eden Project has confirmed that the site is currently dealing with a flood-related incident, saying: “I can confirm that there is currently flooding at the Eden Project, and more details will be released in due course.”
Visitors to the attraction reported being turned away upon arrival.
On Twitter, Anna Louise Buzzard wrote: “Eden Project, are you going to tweet about the fact that you are closed today? Since we just made the 45 minute trip and got turned down, a quick tweet or email notice would have been helpful ! ”
Laura Draper was concerned about her reservation and wrote: “What is the situation in Eden? Does it have to close due to a landslide? We have entry at noon and have to re-plan if we cannot go but cannot find information on Nowhere”.
