The BBC will reportedly offer Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford their own show following their departure from ITV’s This Morning.
Earlier this month it was revealed that the veteran hosts, both in their 60s, will no longer host the Friday installments of the daytime show and will be replaced by Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary.
But there could be a silver lining for the married couple, as reports suggest rival broadcaster BBC is ready to offer them the opportunity to host their own show.

The channel is apparently eager to take the present couple on a different show on days when they are not replacing This Morning hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.
A source told The Sun: ‘Eamonn and Ruth have a great fan base and a lot of experience.
“They can easily carry any number of shows, so the producers of the Beeb are considering giving them a format up front.”
MailOnline has contacted the BBC and representatives of Eamonn and Ruth for comment.

Ruth and Eammon are said to be “disappointed and devastated” that they would lose their regular Friday job, a position they have held for 14 years.
It comes after the couple did little-veiled excavations into the ‘murder’ of people and an ‘icy atmosphere’ while hosting This Morning on Friday, as they returned to the show for the first time since they were fired.
When Eamonn and Ruth returned to the show for the first time since the reorganization, it seemed like the situation was very fresh in their minds when Eamonn asked his guests if they had “ ever felt like murdering everyone. ”
While early in the episode, the duo made rather scathing jokes about an ‘icy’ and ‘cold’ atmosphere while discussing the weather.
After interviewing TV character Richard Osman, Eamonn said: ‘Have you ever felt like murdering everyone?

Ruth quickly replied, ‘Oh, maybe right now’ with Eamonn looking away from the camera in a whimsical way.
The couple had already made specific comments about the ‘cold’ and ‘icy’ atmosphere.

Eamonn said, ‘Good morning it’s Eamonn and Ruth and it was a cold morning today’ and Ruth added, ‘Frost.’
He continued: ‘Jack Frost was already there when I poked my nose in this morning’ before Ruth said, ‘It was really cold, wasn’t it?’
Friday’s show marked the first time the couple appeared on This Morning amid ongoing drama caused by their replacement on the show after 14 years.
On Wednesday, Ruth had to interact with her replacement Alison, the first meeting between the two women since the news broke.

Comment: After interviewing Richard Osman, a vitriolic Eamonn said: ‘Have you ever felt like murdering everyone? “I’m thinking of a murder club on Friday … Does the momentum ever get you?”
And viewers took to social media afterward to rate it a bit ‘awkward’.
Alison co-hosted the show with Phillip Schofield, and had to make a live link to the Loose Women studio, another show Ruth hosts.
As they did so, Ruth greeted Phil, but apparently despised Alison, not mentioning her at all. Alison just waved silently as she watched.
Reactions on Twitter included one person commenting: ‘Ruth talking to Phil and ignoring Alison this morning. Clumsy!’
Another posted: ‘It’s kind of awkward Alison to present #ThisMorning today and then Ruth shows up on Loose Women!’
Someone else called it “drama”, as others expressed their feelings about the reorganization of the presentation.
Head to Head: Ruth and Alison made headlines earlier this week when the pair had to interact on Wednesday’s show, their first meeting since the replacement news was announced.

Hosts Ruth and Eamonn are believed to be ‘furious and upset’ at their departure from the daytime series as they make way for their first permanent black host, Alison, and X Factor’s Dermot.
The TV star recently spoke about grafting her roles on This Morning and finding fame without being on a reality show.
Ruth told Mirror’s Notebook magazine that she and Eamonn had struggled to get to where they are today, in an interview in early October before the news.
Ruth said: ‘We have put the work in. We didn’t do a reality show and we got an overnight job on TV. We have risen through the ranks.

‘Eamonn was only 19 when he started. And he was doing the tea time news in Belfast during The Troubles. It was heavy. And now you have an OBE for broadcasting services.
This comes after Eamonn reportedly claimed online trolls were plotting to get him fired, hours before reports emerged that he and Ruth were going to be banned from This Morning.
Speaking to his fans on a Belfast Live Facebook group, the announcer revealed that it was ‘stressful’ to know that trolls could ‘get you fired’ on ‘Live TV’, according to the Daily Mirror.
Eamonn is believed to have made the comments just one day before reports emerged that he and his wife Ruth were to be removed from This Morning.
Eamonn said: “People say it’s water from the back of a duck, but people wake up and know they can get you fired… that’s the thing about live TV. It can be very stressful. ‘
In recent weeks, Eamonn has told friends about his fear of being too ‘pale, stale and masculine’ for the ITV show, which has garnered criticism for not being diverse enough.
Eamonn and Ruth were said to have been ‘disappointed and devastated’ by the latest news, as they had ‘loved’ their performance on This Morning.
The duo will continue to host the ITV show Monday through Thursday during the schools’ six weeks of summer vacation.
