Donald Trump said being “immune” to Covid-19 made him feel “so powerful,” telling a crowd in Florida that he would give everyone a “big kiss.”

The president threw masks at the crowd before speaking at his first campaign rally since he fell ill.

He reiterated his claim that his doctors had told him that he was now immune to the coronavirus.

Earlier, Trump’s doctor said he had tested negative for the virus on consecutive days.

He mocked Joe Biden, claiming that his opponent had been confused about whether he was running for president or for the Senate, which was false.

And moments later he urged the people of Puerto Rico to vote for him.

He said: “I’m not going to say the best, but I’m almost the best thing that has happened to Puerto Rico.”

“You better vote for me, Puerto Rico.”

As an overseas territory, rather than a state, Puerto Rico cannot vote in presidential elections.

During a spiel about the Covid-19 lockdowns, the president said: “If you don’t feel good about it, if you’re not relaxed, stay. But if you want to get out, get out.”

And he added: “One thing of mine, the good part, I had it, they say I’m immune, I feel so powerful.

“I will go directly to that audience. I will go out to kiss everyone in that audience.

“I will kiss the boys, the beautiful women and everyone.

“I’ll just give you a big, fat kiss.”

President Trump continued: “There’s a good thing, I don’t have to be locked in my basement. And I wouldn’t let that happen anyway. I wouldn’t allow it to happen. When you are the president.” You can’t lock yourself in a basement You have to go out, and it’s risky. It’s risky, but you have to get out.

“But you get a good feeling when you hit something and they say you’re immune, I don’t know for how long, some people say for life, some people say for four months. Every time I hear it it gets shorter and shorter, because they want it to be as bad as possible. “
