Donald Trump said Joe Biden would give Americans the “biggest tax cut in history.” Twice.
The president of the United States, who has repeatedly questioned his opponent’s health and fitness to govern on occasions where he has apparently made a mistake, suffered an embarrassing slip of the tongue during a speech in Pennsylvania.
Trump delivered three speeches today in the Commonwealth, with just eight days until the Nov.3 election.
An apparently confused Trump said that Biden would achieve “the biggest tax cut in history.”
He added: “This is the craziest campaign, right? So all my life I see politicians say ‘let’s cut your taxes’
“True? “We are going to cut your taxes.”
“And it’s so fired up. He says’ we’ll raise your taxes, ‘I said’ what the hell?
Then he repeated, “It’s going to give you the biggest tax cut in our country’s history, including regulations and everything else, that made it so good for us.”
The president has repeatedly referred to Biden as “shot,” making repeated claims of errors, many of which come from selectively edited images.
Biden made a small-scale appearance in the city of Chester, near Philadelphia, meeting with a dozen campaign volunteers and speaking with reporters. Biden said he was “not overly confident in anything” and “with the grace of God” would win Pennsylvania, the state where he was born.
“I think we are going to win Michigan, I think we are going to win Wisconsin. I think we are going to win Minnesota. I think we have a chance to fight in Ohio. Biden also stepped up his criticism of Trump’s handling of a coronavirus pandemic that has killed an estimated 225,000 Americans, saying, “The bottom line is that Donald Trump is the worst possible president, the worst possible person to guide us through this pandemic.”
More than 60 million Americans have already cast their votes before the November 3 election, a record pace that could lead to the largest voter turnout in the United States by percentage in more than a century.
