The White House told the group of reporters traveling with the president that Trump would not make an appearance.
A report of the group seen by Politico said: “The group was not informed of this in advance, and we have not been called to the White House or Walter Reed.”
The president’s video message comes after his doctor said Sunday that Trump could leave the hospital on Monday.
Speaking outside Walter Reed Medical Center, doctors said that if Trump continues to improve, they “plan to be discharged as soon as tomorrow.”
