Donald Trump accused the television news of exaggerating the risk of Covid-19 to “discourage people from voting.”

Speaking at a rally in Arizona, the President of the United States called the CNN news network “idiots.”

And he repeated his claim that the virus was “turning the corner” and would soon disappear.

He said: “[People] They are getting tired of the pandemic, right?

“You turn on CNN, that’s all they cover. ‘Covid, Covid, Pandemic, Covid, Covid.’

“You know why? They are trying to convince everyone not to vote.”

He added: “People don’t buy it, CNN, you idiot idiots.”

Some 220,000 people have died from Covid-19 in the United States since the start of the pandemic, out of a total of 8.19 million cases.

Currently, cases are increasing in most states, with Connecticut and Florida saying the worst increases.

Only two states, Vermont and Missouri, reported a drop in average numbers.

Arizona, where Trump is holding two outdoor rallies today, reported 748 new cases this afternoon, with three confirmed deaths from coronavirus.

In an earlier phone call with campaign workers, Trump slammed America’s top virus expert, Anthony Fauci, as a “disaster.”

Trump and Fauci, a member of his coronavirus task force, have disagreed on the best way to handle a pandemic that has killed more than 219,000 people in the United States and weakened the president’s bid for reelection on November 3. .

Fauci openly complained about being quoted in a Trump re-election campaign ad and said in an interview broadcast Sunday night on CBS’s “60 Minutes” that he was not surprised that Trump himself contracted the virus.

Trump suggested that he had avoided firing Fauci because of the negative setback he would receive.

Fauci, 79, is one of America’s most respected scientists and has served both Republican and Democratic presidents. He has been the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases since 1984.

“Fauci is a disaster. If he listened to him, we would have 500,000 deaths,” Trump added.
