2020 U.S. elections
More than 72 million Americans voted in favor of a second term for President Donald Trump. But despite not achieving victory, many of his fans say they are not ready to move on.
Although allegations of widespread voter fraud are unfounded, about 70% of Republican voters do not believe that Democrat Joe Biden won a “free and fair” election, according to a Politico / Morning Consult poll.
The Trump campaign has called for recounts, filed lawsuits and amplified suspicions from angry supporters.

How does President Trump challenge the result?
President-elect Biden’s victory will not solidify until the electoral college meets in mid-December, and many Republicans hope the result will be overturned.
We asked Trump voters what they think of the election outcome. This is what they said:
Rom Solene is a Marine Corps veteran and history buff who voted for Donald Trump in 2020 with much more enthusiasm than in 2016. He is disappointed that Trump lost, but says Trump gave many voters “reason to believe in the Republican Party again. “And neither the Republican Party nor Joe Biden can afford to fire people like him.
Do you accept the result?
Of course I accept the result! To do otherwise would be to not accept the ideals on which the United States was founded.
Describe your feelings about this loss.
I’m disappointed. However, it comforts me to know that many votes that were cast for Biden were actually votes that were cast against Trump. I mean, a lot of people didn’t vote for Mr. Biden; rather, they voted against Trump. Personally, I know a lot of people who believe in Trump’s policies, but disdain his personality or style. I think Mr. Biden sees it too, which is why he was quick to state that he will rule on behalf of those who did not vote for him as much as those who did. Biden will never make a decision as president without carefully considering how his decision will affect the large bloc of voters that supported Trump.
Will you continue with the republican party?
I will only stick with the Republican Party from the last four years. That is the Republican party that embodies my beliefs. The republican party of the last 30 years was republican in name only (Rinos).
Cat Lewis is an avid Christian writer who supports Donald Trump and attended his inauguration in 2017 with her entire family. She says that, unlike other politicians, Trump was “in it for what he can give,” not what he can get. She has several concerns about the integrity of the election and is not yet ready to admit that Joe Biden won.
Do you accept the result?
I suspect the result. ALL states with questionable mail ballots are Democratic-controlled swing states. It amazes me how many counting supervisors couldn’t see the count, in my opinion. If everything is going up, why aren’t Republican supervisors given full access inside the tally rooms? Something smells fishy. I am eager to see how the stories go.
Describe your feelings about this loss.
I’m sad for our country if Biden has really won because Trump is the one. He is the man. Defend the little people. It does not accept money from China nor does it collude with other nations against the United States. He is the one who keeps us safe and improves everyone’s lives. If we only read their accomplishments and didn’t know who enacted them, as Americans, we must honestly say that their accomplishments have been a blessing to this country. You’ve done an amazing job IF YOU JUST LOOK AT YOUR ACTIONS. But ignore the media and liberals who want us to hate the “bad orange man.”
Will you continue with the Republican Party?
Doubtful. They have not supported Trump and, therefore, I am changing my voter registration to Independent. If Trump is not re-elected, I am eager to see what he will do. I’m sure he’s not finished just because he’s not the president.
Jim Sullivan is a property manager who voted for Donald Trump in 2016 and 2020 because he supports the ideology and core policies of the Republican Party. For the past several years, he has worked to help the party at the state and local levels, an activity he is eager to return to now that the elections are over.
Do you accept the result?
Yes … except for any serious evidence to the contrary. I accept the certified results of the election and the winners projected by the media.
Describe your feelings about this loss.
My feelings range from sadness to relief to acceptance. I have a new sense of purpose. I am ready for the change.
Will you continue with the republican party?
Yes absolutely! I will definitely stick with the Republican Party. Now is the perfect time to regroup, rebuild, refocus, and get back to our roots! My support was never tied to one person. It is linked to an ideology: the republican way of life. Sure, I supported Trump as the head of our party and also as the head of our country, but in my mind there is a hierarchy of loyalty. Above Trump is our party and beyond is our nation and the U.S. Constitution.
Mike Harlow is an outspoken gay YouTuber who didn’t vote for Donald Trump in 2016, but says Trump won his vote with his policies in the last four years. He called Trump “the most misunderstood president in modern history.” The election is not over yet, says Mike, but win or lose, the Trump coalition will not let its agenda fall by the wayside.
Do you accept the result?
I will 100% accept the results after there are full recounts and investigations of the unprecedented irregularities that have taken place. There are many whistleblowers who come forward and “failures” are reported. We need transparency. Biden’s fans deserve it too. If after all investigations and accounts are completed, there is no reason to believe that widespread fraud was involved, I will wish my new president well and show him the respect that the Democrats never showed their president for the past 4 years.
Describe your feelings about this loss.
I am truly devastated by this choice. Maybe it was naive, but I trusted the electoral process. That is no longer the case. Too many suspicious things are happening. However, this is not a loss. No state has yet certified Joe Biden as a winner. We don’t have an official result yet. More importantly, there are many reasons for celebration here. President Trump received the highest non-white vote of all Republicans in 60 years. Never again will the Democrats and the Left be allowed to act as if they own and control all minorities in America.
Will you continue with the republican party?
Absolutely. I have a love-hate relationship with my party. If this were the same Republican party as 10 or 20 years ago, it would never be a Republican. My goal is to help change the Republican Party from within. I will do everything humanly possible to make sure the old Republican Party does not return from the grave. We will not go back to the Republican party that acts as a country club for a handful of elites. It was always about confronting the Republican establishment as much as the left.
Scott Nolan is a criminal defense attorney and Navy veteran who voted again for Donald Trump because he was impressed with several of his political moves in the last four years. He could not stand Hillary Clinton and, although he had no such objection to Joe Biden, he fears that Biden “is not strong-willed.” Nolan says he will move on when the end result is certified.
Do you accept the result?
I will accept the result when it becomes official, yes. And I wish the president the best. It doesn’t matter that I didn’t vote for it. I always wish the President of the United States the best and pray that I was wrong about him.
Describe your feelings about this loss.
America has now entered its most dangerous period in more than a century and a half. We have begun to restrict the rights of free citizens under the pretext of granting rights to others. The sheer evil with which the left treated the president and us, his supporters, has reduced the very hope of unity that the president-elect tried to ask for. If there is a way back to unity, I confess that I do not see it. We have reached a point from which there is no turning back.
Will you continue with the republican party?
Yes, I will stay with the Republican Party as long as it remains in support of the constitution, limited government, and a strong military.
